Taiwan OSHA Held the 2024 "Sustainable Leading Enterprise in Healthy Workforce" Award Trial and Registration Will Be Open from June 1st to August 15th.

  • Last Modify Date:2024-06-01

“Human capital” and “Healthy workforce” have become key competitive strengths in enterprises and countries, in the wake of aging population, declining birth rates and labor shortages. In 2024, Ministry of Labor (MOL) expands the "Sustainable Leading Enterprise in Healthy Workforce" Award Trial, to advocate for the importance of occupational health and safety and to promote practices that go beyond regulatory compliances. Registration will be open from June 1st to August 15th, for all public and private enterprises, as well as foreign companies operating domestically, who have prepared and disseminated their annual CSR reports are eligible to participate.

To guide businesses in practicing the SDGs and assist in disclosing occupational health and safety performance, Taiwan OSHA has executed “The Program to Promote Workers’ Health in Taiwan” since 2022 and referred to the GRI 403 standards to formulate the "Guidance on OSH Indicators for CSR Reporting towards SDGs". Furthermore, to set benchmarks and encourage more companies to replicate successful experiences, MOL held the "Sustainable Leading Enterprise in Healthy Workforce" trial for the first time in 2023. Nine outstanding companies were acknowledged and shared their experiences in the event.

The award will focus on the people-centered principle of "leadership executive commitment, strengthening healthy workforce, and expanding influence" as the main criteria for competition this year (2024). A new "Emerging Role Model Award" has been introduced to small and medium-sized enterprises who are firstly preparing and submitting CSR reports in 2024. We also subsequently provide how-to exemplary cases and a series of support resources such as training sessions, digital learning materials and forums. The goal of this activity is to improve the occupational health and safety states across the leading companies and supply chain and foster the healthy workforce.
