Led by Dr. Wong Shiu Hong, a delegation from the College of Public Health and Occupational Physicians (CPHOP) in Singapore visited the Occupational Safety and Health Administration on November 2, 2023. The 15-member delegation consisted of specialists in public health and occupational medicine. The visit aimed to gain insights into the occupational safety and health regulations and policies, as well as the laws and practices related to protecting workers in cases of occupational accidents.               OSHA Director-General Tsou Tzu-Lien received the delegation and reaffirmed the administration's dedication to upholding the principles outlined in the international human rights declaration, specifically pertaining to “the right to safe and healthy work.” DG Tsou also shared Taiwan's occupational safety and health strategies, along with practical experiences and approaches aimed at safeguarding workers in the event of occupational accidents. Key areas of focus included establishing a comprehensive system for preventing and rehabilitating occupational injuries and diseases, categorizing different types of occupational diseases and providing specific guidelines for identification, investigating suspected cases of occupational diseases, and implementing occupational health examinations to enhance preventive measures.              The discussion proved to be highly engaging, laying a strong groundwork for future mutual learning and communication. This foundation will facilitate enhanced international cooperation in preventing occupational accidents and protecting the workforce in our country. Such efforts also contribute to the development of a more comprehensive occupational accident protection system.
