National Sustainable Development Award

The National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD) held the 2023 National Sustainable Development Awards ceremony on November 30th at the NTUH International Convention Center. The awards were presented by Premier CHEN Chien-jen, and the "Taiwan Healthy Workforce Sustainability Development Plan" submitted by OSHA was honored with the awards. It has major significance for promoting occupational safety and health policies in Taiwan.

Director Tzou,Tzu-Lien stated that promoting sustainable development is a crucial national policy in both the public and private sectors. Each of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires the participation and implementation of all workers. "Human capital" and "healthy workforce" are keys to sustainable development and also the most valuable assets for enhancing the competitiveness of businesses and the sustainable development of the country.OSHA is very grateful for the recognition from the judging committee and the NCSD.

In the future, OSHA will continue refining its efforts to promote the sustainable development of a "Healthy Workforce Sustainability Development." Moreover, there will be an expansion of diverse partnerships and incentive mechanisms for both listed and over-the-counter (OTC) companies.

OSHA encourages businesses to emphasize the importance of occupational health and safety in ESG development. OSHA also encourages companies to leverage OSHA's pioneering GRI 403 Guidance on OSH Indicators for CSR Reporting towards SDGs. Additionally, companies should drive the whole supply chain to take concrete actions, key measures, and show various leading performance indicators, which can lead to establish sustainable values that are human-centered and prioritize DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion).
